This is the Signed unique original Gouache painting by Bernard Long.

Thought to be an unused cover for the book Prehistoric Man by Bernard Long and Rupert Oliver. There is a note below the art which seems to suggest that the scene was not convincing as a single hunter would not have attacked so large a beast.

Published or not (there is also a note to show that print copies were produced) it remains one of the most dynamic of Bernard Long's painting for the children's Pre-History series.
