This is the unique original Gouache painting by Bernard Long.

A great painting of a Cave Bear catching a salmon, with the incredible Giant Beavers in the background.

The well known phrase for dealing with bears "If it is brown lay down, if it is black fight back, if it is white good night" springs to mind when viewing this piece, however we are unaware of any useful phrase when encountering Giant Beavers!

This painting was possibly used in the book Strange and Curious Creatures written by Rupert Oliver and illustrated by Bernard Long.
