Synopsis: Already sold out from the publisher, this new edition of Illustration features an in-depth look at Tom Lovell, a master of dynamic pulp art possibly best known for his Western themes. In the 1940s Lovell concentrated on magazine illustration employing a much more detailed and romantic style that is a pleasure to look at.
The second feature is a piece on the Sicilian-American Nino Carbé who created wonderful illustrations for a 1932 edition of Frankenstein and later created many vivid illustrations for children's books. There is also a fond remembrance of the work of the recently departed Jeffrey Catherine Jones.
